Castle Donington, Leicestershire
Redgate opens the lap as an off-camber right-hander that catches out the overconfident, then the track drops away through the Craner Curves, a fast, downhill left-right sequence that's one of the most photogenic sections in British motorsport. The Old Hairpin and Starkey's Bridge slow things back down before McLeans and Coppice wind through the middle of the lap, and the Foggy Esses (named for Carl Fogarty) reward a bike rider who can carry corner speed. Goddards, the tightening final corner, is where a lot of overtakes (and a lot of first-lap incidents) happen.

Track Days 98 dB(A) Drive-by or Unsilenced

MSV-run trackdays at Donington typically operate a drive-by noise limit in the region of 98dB, but this varies by organiser and event. Car trackdays, bike trackdays, and third-party club days each set their own limit and novice/experience requirements. Always check the specific event's own booking page (linked from its listing on this site) before you travel, rather than assuming.
General paddock and public parking is well signposted from the main circuit entrance off the A453. Spectator parking for race meetings is separate from the trackday paddock car parks. Check which one applies to the event you're attending.
Craner Curves banking
On race-meeting days this is one of the most popular spectator banks on the circuit, with a clear view down through the esses. Not accessible on closed test/trackdays.
Melbourne Loop (GP layout)
About as close to the cars as spectating gets at Donington. Only used on the full GP circuit, not the shorter National layout.
Starkeys car park
A paid car park (typically £5 to £10) on the bank above Craner Curves, Old Hairpin, and Starkeys, which doubles as one of the better elevated viewing spots on a race weekend.
